Sugarpine Aviators has a variety of aircraft with different capabilities for carrying passengers, ranging from the inexpensive Luscombe 8F for a single passenger, to the Cessna 172 STOL and the Piper Cherokee 180 which can carry 3 passengers. Typically we fly three normal-sized enthusiasts around the area for a half an hour in the Cessna 172. In that short time one can view beautiful Bucks Lake with its camping areas and resorts and associated wilderness area.
We also conduct tours around Mt. Lassen, the areas active volcano, and Mt. Shasta, an inactive volcano. To the south lie the fabulous Lake Tahoe and the Rubicon River Wilderness. Enroute you can view the Lakes Basin, the Sierra Buttes and Upper Sardine Lake, where Sugarpine Aviators made their dangerous dive while simulating a crash in the movie, "A Cry In The Wild!" as described in Johnny's book I Must Fly!
In the summer months tours are most enjoyable in the cool of the morning. Each season presents its own beautythe autumn colors, the winter snows, spring green and summers lazy splendor.
