With a staff of aviation professionals tapping more than 40,000 hours of collective experience and ratings including Airline Transport Pilot, Sugarpine Aviators is able to offer a level of skill almost never seen in the average small-town, general-aviation enterprise. These highly-trained professionals are here in the Sierras because they crave the majestic challenge of its mountain-ringed skies, but they can -- and will -- take you anywhere, whether it's a quick dash from your mountain retreat to business meetings in Sacramento, from a sleepy weekend brunch to a dazzling scenic flight, or from a child's dream of flying to the reality of flight training.

CHARTERS

Sugarpine Aviators is certificated as an Air Carrier under Federal Air Regulations Part 135. They are designated for Day, Night, VFR, On Demand, Passengers or Cargo charter flights for the public.

Our fleet can fly up to three passengers to their favorite destinations at surprisingly reasonable prices. Common points for corporate travel include Sacramento International Airport (approximately 55 minutes), Concord (a short BART ride to San Francisco, 110 minutes), and Reno (42 minutes). Sugarpine's pilots have experience and skill levels, commercial experience and ratings that include the highest possible designation. Sugarpine's fleet is sure to have a craft that suits the most exacting business and vacation needs. In the summer our Cessna U206 is active flying up to 5 passengers and/ or cargo on various missions. We also track lightning strikes for the US Forest Service.

SCENIC FLIGHTS

Custom tours are offered throughout the entire range of our aircraft, from a quick trip around locally to lengthy surveys of the Sierras and Cascades in our four seater (3 passengers + pilot) STOL-equipped high winged Cessna 172, low winged Piper Cherokee 180, or our 6 seater       (5 passengers + pilot).

Nearby there are many beautiful sights that can be enjoyed from our unique aerial vantage point; including the rugged Sierra Buttes and its surrounding Lakes Basin; Plumas Eureka State Park; the Wild and Scenic River territory of the Middle Fork of the Feather River, including The Seven Falls, Feather Falls and the spectacular Bald Rock Canyon. Also nearby is Bucks Lake with its resorts, the Bucks Lake Wilderness Area, Three Lakes, Silver Lake and . . . well, you get the picture.

Further out we can show you beautiful Lake Almanor guarded by the sleeping volcano, Mt. Lassen, southernmost peak of the Cascades. A short flight to the south lies the Lake Tahoe area including the enchanting granite formations of the Rubican River Basin.

FLIGHT   INSTRUCTION

Sugarpine Aviators offers reasonably-priced flight training ranging from primary instruction through advanced professional airman certificates. The Private Pilot Certificate qualifies you to fly passengers into any airport in the land. Mountain flight training is a natural by-product of learning to fly at Gansner Airfield. Special training can include taildragger dual instruction in your aircraft. Our airport is located within easy walking distance of Quincy, California, the political center of Plumas County. Also located nearby are motels, a health club and Feather River Community College.

You may learn at a leisurely rate, or we can accelerate your training to fit into your tight schedule. In any case, we instructors are dedicated to your safety and enjoyment of aviation.

AIRCRAFT RENTALS

Our Cessna 172 is STOL equipped for extra performance and very stable.

The special Piper Cherokee 180’s are lean and mean and great for traveling. All of our aircraft have their propellers pitched for maximum climb performance. Our fine fleet of Cessna's and Pipers fill the needs of student and renter pilots and charter customers too.

Our rates and equipment compare favorably to those anywhere!
